The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra was created in 2004 by expat musicians as a small ensemble in which they could continue creating music while in PV. Since then it has grown to be a full-sized orchestra, being the only community orchestra in the Bay Area. The ensemble now houses more than 40 local and international musicians, with artists over 8 countries all joining their talent to produce the highest level of formal music in the whole region. Led by Daniel Oliveros, the PVCO has given more than 50 concerts while collaborating with renowned artists like Luna Rhumba and the ballet Danza Arte y Cultura, to name a few.
All profits from performances go directly back to IAM PV (Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta), a non-profit music education institute dedicated to bring music performances and instruction to the younger generations.
